You are Perfect!

“Slowly is the fastest way to get where you want to be”

As a generation we are all stressed out by the illusion that we are running out of time. We are in a constant struggle to achieve the unrealistic goals that we have set for ourselves.

The trend of perfection is taking a toll on everybody out there. In short, we are obsessed with perfection. But, is it worth all the suffering?

Perfection is a scam

The millennial generation has fallen prey to the perfection scam. They are heads over heels with the idea of looking like someone on Instagram. All they see is the life on social media and want to achieve that perfection.

Nobody takes the photo filters, lightning, makeup, and tons of other things put to use so that the life on Instagram could be as glamourous and shiny as possible.

Be it money, health, looks, fitness, you name it, people are constantly falling apart just because they are not as perfect as the world is telling them to be.

The desire to seek validation from the world is a poison. Get rid of it!

Self-Actualization and Perfection

Abraham Maslow worked profoundly on the psychology of self-actualization. One has to realize his/her true potential and then work towards it. The idea of Maslow suggests that if one starts to realize their true potential in spiritual form as well as the real world, he/she starts moving towards perfection. In short, realization of oneself is key to
perfection.

One Step Forward, Two Steps Backward

The narrative of perfection is not evil, nor unachievable. It is rather a great pleasure to be called perfect at something. However, there are plethora of things that you need to take into account before striving for perfection.

If you want to become a developer, and called perfect in what you do, niche down. There’s no such thing as a developer who is perfect at every stack and programming language. The golden advice is to niche down and find something that you have a history in. It will make it easier to achieve.

Once you get started learning, stick to it. Consistency and discipline are two most elite ways to win at whatever you plan. Take things slow, move at your own pace and love yourself. Take time to appreciate the little things in life and that’s how you are going to be peaceful in the head.

Perfection Explained

The phenomenon of perfection is a journey instead of a destination. It’s not okay to run after perfection, you will get tired. Just walk towards it slowly. Enjoy every moment, learn lessons on the way and that’s how you might end up being perfect in what you want.

Find out what you like, keep doing it and fall in love with it. You will explore and create things that no one else did because of the love you have.

Perfection in Relationships

The idea of “nothing is perfect” is very pragmatic and should be used more often while weighing relationships. You have to be considerate, empathetic, and compromising in relationships.

We idealize the relationships we see on social media. Being so hooked by the content, we fail to comprehend that everything on social media is staged to some extent. Even the most candid content goes through the upload part. People don’t post the negative side.

Social media is like a Eutopian world which does not exist. However, the imaginary world of social media has caused people to pursue impractical standards in relationships.

The Final Advice

Sign up for perfection as a journey. A journey that has to be slow and steady. A journey that includes enjoyment from every other aspect of life as well. Your family, friends, hobbies, and work should be there in your life. Think of it as the ticket to the train of perfection.

Love yourself.
